So, this is an exercise in creativity and plotting skillz.
Basically, we're going to plot our own manga. Yes, that means YOU.
So, who's with me? Anyone?
First off, we'll need to decide what kind of manga it'll be. Shonen fighting, Magical Girl, slice-of-life, steampunk, historical fiction, out-and-out fantasy...
Your thoughts?

Okay since I'm a total hopeless romantic, I would suggest to put some love stuff in it, but we can have a guy...or a girl, who's in search of a legendary cure for their mother that only their father has (father left when the main character was just a baby, most assumes that he cheated on the mother but he never did, he left them so his child would not be affected by his projects or the haters (yes, he is an "evil" genius who's actually one of the good guys, but before the character was born, he and the mother had big problems making a living because of economical issues, and h took a job as an inventor for an evil company)
... the father would be on the other side of the world in a evil lair? ... a volcano base or something? or they could be living somewhere where there are no buses just horses or camels .... or a old mule?

by making a epic journey across the lands and on a boat =O ... wow that would be troublesome if those kids would have some arrangement to visit their father every two weeks =P

The original idea was that they didn't know where to find him, or he was quite hard to reach ( as in gappiee's suggestion of the evil lair), and whether it would be normal humans or not, that'd be the decision of the one who wrote it.
The whole point of this idea is that we're plotting it all out- the plot, the characters, the setting, the powers if there are any.. It's all an exercise in creativity, seeing how much of a world we can construct.

oooh well then i suggest a steampunkish setting in a world that started out similar to this one but now is sort of post apocalyptic with most of the humans living is big steam powered cities with a super high speed train running between most of them and these main characters would have to search for their father, who is on the run from various organizations because he invented something they want. and then make it a sort of dark mystery... give it a feel a bit like the noir-detective stories ^^

ooh a huge fire that went all over the planet evaporating all the water and thus creating thick clouds that block out most of the sunlight ... and cause a lot of rain all the time ......... how is that?

things would get booooring if you worry about stuff being really possible or not =O of-course there is always the option of a nuclear war but that just doesnt seem very steampunk

Hmmm.....perhaps the huge fire could have ruined the whole societies and the super-speed train was the *only* way to get from one city/town to another, though most people could not afford such a way to travel so they were stuck right where they lived, or the massive rainfall could have made a great swamp outside the city they lived in, almost totally surrounding it, but there could be one or two hidden safe passages through the swamps that only the two of them plus maybe a few other kids, close friends of the perhaps(?) or great enemies, that would pose a challenge when they couldn't afford the train, right?
Perhaps. That WOULD be an idea, it definitly would...it would be a little fail for them to run after him when he's after them, but...for what reason would he be wanting to find them?
ooh but there have to be clues that someone is following them, so they are running from an unknown evil ... which isnt evil but the one they are looking for... bu noone knows ^^
