Oh, this was forever ago, but I have tried both, though I quit the online version becuase (a) it costs money (b) in my opinion, pencil paper and imagination way. My friend M's father used to pull together about a group of 5-6, and DM to play every other Friday, when I was like, in the second grade. It was first edition, but skills that were developing in the kids (including) me actually were helped. I got really good at leadership skills and problem solving things with different tools, it was pretty much the best. I actually really want to tell some D&D stories this moment, but will try my best to refrain from filling your brain with my geekyness.
We also played a storytelling version intstead of just hack and slash, which most groups play now, with the new editons. My friend Will is using skills he learned from M's father, and now sometimes we pull together our own group of friends to play, sometimes I DM, or he DMs, its pretty fun social time for us, and great that M's Dad legacy continues, though my first adventure I DMed was a complete mess.

hehe wolfie i dont believe you can fill our brains with your geekyness as for storytelling... well a good dnd campaign has both a well told story and exiting action that gives a fake sense of reward ^^
@Susanah you should its loads of fun =D

Well I haven't got anyone to play it with yet...I might try at sub though, some people like to hang there and play geeky games, for example Magic: The Gathering, which I learned yesterday and was loads of fun too =D
magic is the best ^^ always played that during English classes in highschool =D somehow all teachers liked me and my friends so the Enlish teacher always said: you dont disturb the class with it and the cards are in English so its alright.

Lol xD We would never get that with our English teacher, and she is like a slave to the set plan and time schedule for every class, she seriously was like: The plan says you are doing your presentation today, and even though you haven't had much time at all I will ignore that fact and you wil lget a "didn't do task" remark if you do not do it right now ......SHE was the one responsible for us not having had enough time given that we had a test during two of the shool hours that she proclaimed we had had to work on the task, and set my group on to work on a different land after the two first shool hours we had worked with it.
