Story about a boy who gets hit by a space ship and when the aliens repair him, they make him into a girl which is irriversible. Then "she" must deal with the love triangle between his 2 other female friends. It's such a cute shoujo ai even if the whole alien part is kinda weird, but funny.
I think that the manga is WAY better than the anime. I've read the first 2 volumes which are the only ones availible and seen all the episodes including the OVA, and I still believe that the manga is better.
Your thoughts?

I read most of this series before it was licensed. I missed out on the last chapter! >o But...I think it could have been a lot better. The idea was cool, but the execution was a bit sub-par.
I enjoyed the anime and the OVA, even if it could have been written alot better, I haven't gotten around to the manga yet, but I'm curious. Atleast it couldn't go as freaky as the Mai-Hime manga, I suppose.

I didn't like the idea of Tomari "turning gay" for the main character, though. That just doesn't happen...usually. And what's up with the girl who can't see guys? That was just...a poor plot device, I think.
So i heard that this shoujo and shonen stuff is just like...well... hentai. Is that true?

Shoujo and shounen? No, they're wide categories based on gender. Shoujo is written for girls as its intended audience and shounen is written for boys.
If you're talking about shoujo-ai and shounen-ai, still no. Yuri and yaoi sometimes refer to hentai. There's a lot of trouble with the labels. They really are considered to be romance genres, though, more than anything else.
Well, maybe Tomari was gay already and never liked the main character before cuz she was a boy. xD I thought the chick not being able to see guys was weird too, but I didn't mind cuz it was different and not all cliched and stuff. =3

It's because they made the anime while the manga was still being released. They actually ended the anime before the manga finished. I hate it when they do that.
Same with Inuyasha, but you can't blame them in that case. Takahashi is just going way too crazy with that series.
Kagome: Oops! I broke the Shikon Jewel! Inuyasha: Idiot! *One insanely long time later.* Kagome: We got all the shards back! Inuyasha: Finally...! Kagome: Oops! I broke it again! This time, though, they're in even smaller pieces! Inuyasha: ... What the fu--
Inuyasha's like an exception in Japan. Usually a series ends quickly and the artist goes on a new project. Here, we keep selling until we kill it. Unless you are the author of DNAngel, who just quits a series in the middle and goes on to whatever she pleases!
And anime is just when the manga can make money as an anime, so they usually do 26 episodes (more if it's even more popular) to sell it as an anime. Often this is for a more mainstream audience, so they have to cut out stuff and shorten it, etc. The manga can still go on as long as the public likes it in those big telephone-sized magazines they sell in Japan.
So in Japan, manga is the true series. Anime is just to make money.
Ah, the things I learn in an asian studies manga class. XD
They did that to Love Hina. There's 14 volumes of the manga, but only like 26 episodes of the anime. And the anime seems a little strained because of it. In one episode, Keitarou just appears with a tan and they give no explanation for it whatsoever. ee
Oh, and Gravitation, too! That's a long manga--which has a sequel now, too--but there's only 12 episodes. ><!
I think it's kinda funny how there's always 26 episodes or 40. I've seen a bunch of animes with 40 something episodes. Or it can be like Sailor Moon, DBZ, or Pokemon and go on forever. between 200 and over 400 episodes. >_>;;
And usually the manga is better, in most cases. Major acception to that is Mai-HiME. I know I always bring up that anime (it's my favorite, I'm sorry! ^^;) but the anime is indeed better.
I just hate the fact that they change things from manga to anime.

I only read the first chapter and in it, that guy becomes Mai's and Natsuki's "most important person" and I was like WTF. And in the manga the person had be within a certain distance from their "most important person" to summon their Child.
