Shoujo-Ai Couples that should be!

I'm not sure who Zoey and Dawn are. I play the games, but I never watch the show. Though the one on the right looks like Pearl. Grr! It annoys me that the characters have different names in the games than the show.

I stopped watching after Ash went to Johto.

Red: Ash
Blue: I don't think she was in the show. (female trainer from FR/LG)
Green: Gary

Gold: Don't know his name on the show. (male)
Silver: Again, don't know. (rival)
Crystal: Still don't know her name. (female, Crystal version)

Diamond: Don't know. (male)
Pearl: Dawn? (female)

Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald were the only games that used the anime names. The rest used the version names to name the characters.

Well, D/P use the anime names as well... The Male Trainer you can play as is officially named Lucas, and the Female Trainer is named Dawn (shown by the fact these are the names they use when you don't play as them).

And according to the Pokémon Special manga... Diamond is the male trainer, Pearl is the blond rival character, and the female trainer has an as-yet unknown name. Her surname is Berlitz, but any time someone goes to say her given name, it always gets drowned out by something. Chances are her name will be the name of the special-edition D/P game, but they're keeping the name secret until they're ready to announce it.

But yeah... it can get confusing. >D Pokemon has a lot of different canons... The games, anime, and manga are only ever very loosely based on each other, and are their own self-contained little Pokémon Worlds.

So... yeah... ^_^;; Dawn is based on the female trainer from the games, and is a Pokemon Coordinator (She focuses on Contests instead of Gym Battles). Zoey is her sort-of rival, though she spends more time helping Dawn than trying to beat her. Any time they meet yuri fluffiness is sure to happen.

And Taiki... you officially rock harder than ever. >D

It annoyed me that Ash/Satoshi is still in the show. If it was me, I would have had the main character of the games star in the anime versions. That's me, though.

Anyway, they do seem like a cute couple!

Yeah, I'm getting kind of sick of seeing Satoshi myself.

I mean, the first episode of the D/P series made me so hopeful. Only Hikari is in the intro, the whole episode focuses on her, Satoshi is nowhere to be seen. But no, they go and ruin it when at the very end of the episode, Satoshi shows up... *sigh*

I guess, if nothing else, I'm thankful he's not quite the dominant force he was in Houen. Haruka was really nothing but a sidekick who leeched off Satoshi. But at least Hikari is able to operate on her own, and Satoshi's learned more from her than she has from him.

I really don't understand how Satoshi can still be an idiot at training Pokémon after all he's been through.

Well, he has actually matured a lot as the series moved forward. He's not quite as impulsive as he used to be, and he uses smarter strategies in his battles now. But he's just been around so long I'm tired of seeing him. But, he's the star, and he has the all-mighty Pikachu, so we're stuck with him for as long as the series holds out... *sigh* I'll be 50 years old and still be watching Satoshi-the-ten-year-old challenge his 30th league competition...

Nana O. and Nana K. from the anime/manga NANA, I always thought they would make a good couple. Then theres the friendship between Yomi and Tomo from Azumanga Daioh that makes you believe they are perfect for each other. Kim and Shego all the way :D..

I'm also a fan of the Sailor Moon pairings, HotaruxRei, UsagixRei, AmixRei, MakotoxMinako, MakotoxAmi, MakotoxUsagi, MinakoxHotaru, MinakoxSetsuna, SetsunaxAmi.

I didn't mention Haruka/Michiru because they ARE a real couple...I especially loved the Rei Minako relationship in PGSM, it was so hard to tell whether they were just friends if there was something more between them.

And who could forget NamixVivi?

Nami and Vivi from One Piece? I guess they'd be cute togother you're right. But you have weird couples within the senshis XD Rei and Hotaru? If you have a fanfic about them then i want to see it, just for fun ^^

Well i never really looked for yuri art so ... i'm a bit surprised by everything. XD can i look all inocent and shy and tell "i didn't know two girls could kiss" ?
But I guess with the girl to guy ratio of this anime you have to think of yuri couples ... or else there is no love at all ^^

I don't know... One Piece's art style has always annoyed me. Most of the characters have the exact same face. Especially the girls. I could never tell the difference between the girls. They all look the same!

I never cared for Lulu. Her giant jiggling boobs annoyed the hell out of me in Final Fantasy X. And the fact she had to show off her cleavage after EVERY battle... She's a slut. Sorry to say it, but she is. I thought Wakka could do better. That's me, though.

Speaking of Sailor Moon couples, here's some I like:

Hmm. I have three.

My absolute favorite, ever, is undoubtedly Yukari and Nyamo from Azumanga Daioh. I guess I just like the idea of the teachers hooking up instead of the schoolgirls. Unfortunately for me, not a very popular pairing... there's like three pieces of fanart on the entire internet.

Then there's Arika/Mashiro from Mai-Otome, another lesser-supported pairing that I find utterly adorable. There's a great fanart somewhere where Arika makes the Sapphire into a tongue piercing... lol

Also from the Mai-*me universe, I like Chie/Aoi and Haruka/Yukino... both semi-canonical. And Shizuru/Natsuki, but only their Otome incarnations... the melodramatic angstfest thing they had going on in HiME isn't really my cup of tea...

To cap it all off, Rodoreamon/Mamiina from Simoun, which is a show any yuri fan needs to watch... probably more than once.

Yeah... There aren't any canon pairings in the Mai series. People generally think that NatsukixShizuru as canon, but anyone who has seen all of Hime knows that isn't true. As for Otome, it's just a collection of shoujo-ai hints and undertones. Mainly the reason I dislike it so much. It's frustrating to watch.

She is indeed: I really like both her style and her sense of humor. Some of the artists in her favorites section are quite good too, but I don't really have enough spare time to look at all I might like.

Yes, I looked at your DeviantArt page, and you've got some very good stuff there -- to mention just an example, I like the card images, and some of the sprite images are really cute -- but it's in a style very different from Rinacat's, or from that of those of her favorites that I have looked at. Of course, there is also the time and randomness factor: one could probably spend all one's time looking around DeviantArt and STILL miss a lot of the art there that one would have enjoyed if one had happened to find it...

I'm sorry if my post wasn't clear: it was rather late at the time, and I probably was not as coherent as I should have been, so I apologise if anything I wrote came across as a negative comment. Part of what I was trying to say was that you have good art on your page, but that I would never have encountered it (if not for this forum), because there is so much out there and I have relatively little time to look around... and even if I had a lot more time available, it probably wouldn't be enough to find even a fraction of the interesting material.

I'm sorry if my post wasn't clear: it was rather late at the time, and I probably was not as coherent as I should have been, so I apologise if anything I wrote came across as a negative comment. Part of what I was trying to say was that you have good art on your page, but that I would never have encountered it (if not for this forum), because there is so much out there and I have relatively little time to look around... and even if I had a lot more time available, it probably wouldn't be enough to find even a fraction of the interesting material.
