Okay, so technically there aren't any shoujo couples in this show, but there should be!! Natsuki & Shizuru as well as Haruka & Yukino. I mean, Shizuru has feelings for Natsuki and Yukino has feelings for Haruka, so I guess that makes it half way there. lol Mikoto also is very affectionate with Mai. There's like 2 major scenes between Shizuru and Natsuki where they say their feelings and such.

The only thing I like about Mai-Otome is how openly Shizuru flirts with Natsuki in this series. For example when she first meets Arika and blows her ear as well as when she activates Arika's Robe, Natsuki both time reacts like it bothers her as well as blushing. and then my fav part when Shizuru is putting sun tan lotion on Natsuki. teehee. Buuut then there's the part when that weird green haired girl wants to do it with Shizuru and she goes through with so she can steal the key... they had some weird fetish thing going on with all the baby stuff. O_o Anyone else notice that?

Anyways, maybe I've watched it too much. ^^; It is my favorite anime after all.

I watched all of Mai-Hime, but only like the first 12 episodes of Mai-Otome. I lost interest. I just...didn't like Otome at all. It was just...so shounen... It focused more on fighting and less on the characters. Bleh...

I just watched it cuz I like Natsuki so much... even though she was so different. The ending sucked anyways. I only like a few parts.

They had such a premise, too! A great premise for a shoujo-ai series, anyway. I mean, the Otome weren't allowed to marry men! Hello?! They blew it, though...

I'd love to be an Otome. xD I'd be like "heeey there" *wink* They actually can't lose their virginity... but that doesn't mean that they can't do it with another girl because that was proven when Shizuru did the naughty with that weird girl. O_o  She still could transform or whatever. lol

Yeah. They said they can't have sex with men because the Y chromosome breaks down the nanites and then they'd be immune to them.

And yay, yesterday I got this collecters box for it for all the DVDs even though I'm not going to spend $100 on DVDs because I alreay bought the japanese box set for $30. xD

Chie/Aoi! It's, at the very least, implied in Otome, and they're just adorable ;~;

And I definitely think Natsuki and Shizuru were a couple in Otome, or a half-note down from it. Natsuki was, like, pacing holes in her floor when Shizuru was m.i.a....>_>

I seem to be one of the few fans who preferred Mai-Otome to Mai-HiME. Don't get me wrong, I loved both shows, but I just got more enjoyment out of Otome. I think it might have something to do with what Nobody said, with it being more shounen. I do enjoy that... although I understand it's not everyone's thing.
Also, Mai-Otome has my favorite pairing from that 'verse, Arika/Mashiro. They're just so cute!
