So lets talk about what your school is like! Whether it's high school or college. Major and anything else.
For me, I'm in college and I go to FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) and I absolutely love it! I did go to a community college for a year and I didn't enjoy it very much, but once I came here, that all changed. I mean right now, 4 out of my 5 classes are art classes! (The other one is an english one to learn to write professionally). Almost nothing but art classes makes me very excited to go to school. Since I'm a Graphic Design major, I have 2 traditional art classes and 2 graphic art classes. I've only been in school for 3 weeks and I've already learned more than I did in my whole year of community college. The only thing that kinda sucks is the amount of homework I get. I get like 5-8 hours of homework per class. (I have each class once a week). But! It's deffinately worth it! Especially since I over achieve on all my homework and I've learned so much by doing so.
All I can say is that I am really glad that I came to this school.

Yeah. The only reason I don't do art at school is 'cause of the ridiculous amount of homework.
I'm in high school. I go to the most rich, snobby, private school in the town. One of my friends that used to go here got chased out by the EXTREMELY homophobic attitude of the student body in general. So everyone who is gay is in the closet.
The rules are really strict, but as your richness factor goes up so does the amount of what you can get away with. It's a boarding school, I'm a day student, but people from up to about 500 km away live at the school during the week.
Every year my school holds a literature festival which internationally famous authors and artists come to. eg. this year we had Tara Moss (look her up she's a super model) among others. I was involved in a play for the lit festival where I was a gay guy (who predictably died of aids) but the looks on people faces when I was dressed as a guy hitting on the other guys in the play was completely worth it. xD
and that's probably more than you wanted to know... I could go on about my school for ages.
Ha. Art yeah not for me.... although the other half of my college focuses on art.
I'm at the end of my second year of college. I go to the Sheridan Institute of Design and Technology(Sheridan College). The college itself is pretty amazing although I don't enjoy many of the teachers. I'm beginning to wonder if they picked the teachers out of a jar and threw them into teaching. I'm in the Systems Analyst program now dubbed Computer Systems Technology- Systems Analyst Co-op.. long enough name. For those who don't know what a Systems Analyst is, essentially you're a tech person who creates and diagrams a computer system for a company if you go directly into that profession.
The Systems Analyst program itself is a mix between IT and Business courses. For example, this semester I was taking C# and .Net Programming, Database Implemenation, Project Management, Web Services and Object Oriented Modeling as well as my huge final project prep course. I did not enjoy this semester very much, one of the reasons being it was during the summer and I never felt like doing any work.
Sheridan College is based on programs that are either IT technology related or Design, Art and Animation. Sheridan is split into four schools: Business, Arts, IT, and Liberal Studies. I quite enjoy it here because most of the students are crazy, hyper and happy. I've met many random people during my time in my program and my club.
um school wow I go to a public High school so you should now how it is their are people who hate me then their are people who love me the regular drama lol but yeah i like school oh yeah im in 10th grade i take alot of art classes I have a scholarship already to UCLA for photography so thats cool my school can have its days were they wont judge me and my friends but it also can have the days when they do but you get use to it but yeah thats about it

I always feel so under dressed at my school since it's a fashion school and everyone dresses all fancy. But since I'm a graphic design major, I don't really care about the way I dress. So being that way, I guess I really stick out at my school cuz everyone always remembers who I am. All of my teachers even know me by name after 3 classes and I've never even talked to them. Or maybe it's because I overachieve on all my projects and make them prettiful. I mean, why bother doing an art project if you're not going to go all out and learn a thing or two. But, that's just me. xD

I don't know what my school is like yet. I'm starting there in a month, so I'll let you know then. I can, however, tell you what it looks like.
Simply put: it's huge. The campus probably has it's own zip code. When you drink through it, it honestly feels like you're still driving through town, but you're not. There's people everywhere constantly. The buildings have that classic old look to them that you expect from University--even though I think some of them are pretty new.
The university that I'm going to be attending also has a GLBT, so I'll probably will make use of that.
I've definitely made an impression on most of my professors at my school. Most people would also know me as well because I'm one of the two girls in my current program. I also talk back to a lot of my profs, and criticize them. Many of my professors seem to know me straight away which is kind of freaky.
I don't think my school has a GLBT thingy. I'm sure if we did it'd be full of gay guys since over half the guys at my school are openly gay. Like literally... probably closer to 2/3 of them are.

I'm in public high school going to junior which I am kind of dreading because of this huge argumentative paper we're supposed to write lest we fail. It's not that I don't like to write or argue since I love to debate but it's just...eh...when it's an assignment and they choose the topic for you, the enjoyment immediately falls. It's a pretty normal school except the band program is mediocre or less mainly because most of the money goes to sports. It kinda sucks because I used to totally love band but then again, the softball program rocks so I dunno. The sad part is, so far high school has been a lot easier than junior high...but maybe that's because I went from an over achieving school district to a lesser one. Eheh... For college I'm thinking of either Digipen or the Art Institute of Seattle. Mhm...But I'm still thinking...

Alright! Time to write my story! Now...let's see...once upon a ti--Oh! I should check that one website.... (yes...I don't have any work ethic)
In grade 10, I took a required provincial literacy test. If I didn't pass that.. I would have to take it again the year after until I did. Can't pass high school without that and 40 hours of community service.. *shudders*
Community service sucks! Especially when it's required and you can't find any. You'd think that everyone would be looking for people to do things for free.
Excuse the double post, but now that I've had my first day of school I can describe my new school.
It can be summed up into one word: big. I suppose that isn't exactly shocking because it's a university, but I'm pretty overwhelmed at the moment. The tour didn't do it justice. Being there when all of the students there is amazing. There's just so many people. Every place you can think of is crowded. It reminded me of the state fair. Crowded. It made me anxious and a bit nauseous.
It takes 15 minutes just to walk to my classes from my car. All the buildings my classes are in are all in the same area. That's nice. Maybe they arranged it that way or maybe I was just lucky, I don't know.
The resource center (the library) is also really big. It has three floors. Plenty of computers and places to study; however, there's so many students that getting a computer is almost a battle. And this was just today, the first day of school. Nothing was really going on. They'll be impossible to get on during midterms and finals. It's going to be a nightmare...
Since I just found this thread, let me describe my school.
It was started about 21 years ago by the probably most famous church in sweden, the school building used to be orange but they changed it to white. It is not so very big actually, I think it is around 750 something persons in it...
The school itself is 2 buildings, and each building has 2 floors. In building , there is preschool-5th grade. Building 2 6th grade- 9th grade, I'm in building 2 and floor 2 so most of my classes are in rooms that have the number B 200 something. I don't like most of my teacher, 'couse since we are a christian school most (in this case "most" is a other word for "all") of my teachers says that Homosexuality is a sin and all that s**t.
Most of the students in my grade are, in short words, stupid blondes that think everything is about screaming most or something, or atleast the girls are like that, the guys are a bit different. They do all have one thing in common thought, they don't know what things called stepmania and DDR is.
Hmm.. my school is only 1 building that's 5 stories tall. I guess that would make sense since it's in the middle of Los Angeles.
My school is pretty open minded though since most of the guys at my school are openly gay. I dunno about the girls though since most of them are what we call "Barbies". xD

I jsut went for an enternce exam.. now Im BEYOND exausted.... the math part was so friken dificult I dont understanf\d math at all.. well atleast the english test was a inch ^^
but ya I feel the need for a quick nap.. Imso SSOOO tired lol
Hmmm I'm in High School and I'm a freshman ^_^. My school has three large floors, its very ghetto, and has slightly annoying people in it. I'm in a bunch of different after school activities. (Ex: track, robotics club) The school board stuck all us smarter kids together into a single class and make us take everything together. All of us have basically been in gifted programs with eachother all of our lifes. Basically right now we're taking 10th grade required classes (we just finished up the 9th grade classes) and next year we'll take 11th and 12th grade required classes then afterwards we're free to take all the extra classes we need in order to get accepted into the college programs we want.
I'm in high school, grade 10. My school is a small, rich, private school which has two parts. The larger part (97%) is full of homophobic, rich snobby girls.
The smaller part (3%) is filled with smaller groups, meaning my friends and me a) the hardworking troopers who don't have that much money b) the in the closet bi/les people c) the hardcore yaoi fans (but are scared out of their wits by yuri) d) the people who are straight but don't judge others (that's like, four people) e) suicidal people (actually, there are like, six of us, including me) and f) one closet trans
My High school has two sides, Modular campus and then the general campus where we have the Math, English, Science, and Language quads. We simply dub them "Part one" and "Part Two". Its fairly new, I think its only been around for five to six years. Ours is an endless battle for dominance, and I mean seriously. A food fight breaks out almost once a week. All in all, its a fun school, pretty big for our district and of course we have competition since there are two schools with a dog for a mascot, ours is a Husky and Ayala has a Bulldog. So I think its once every year we have a "battle of the bone" type thing.. Our Freshman football team isn't the best either. Anyways, we have two floors, a "Large Gym" where we play basketball and "small gym" where we play...basket ball and volley ball. A tennis court, and a track where we run our weekly mile, play football and soccer. (funny thing is our track is near a brick factory and its always hard to breathe) Then we have the theater where people create sets for our musicals and dances, and music rooms for choir and band. We also have your stereotypical emo kid, scene kid, gangster, prep, whatever you can think of really. But then, what school doesn't? :)
All in all, then only thing I like about my school is the performing arts department.
We had a group of goths, lesbians and gays, the nerds, fat kids, preps, the ho's and the skate. but i was the one that will sit with every group so yeah...thats me.
Now i'm in a cooking school and i love it!!!. 1 day school 4 days working. Its like learning and working for money and i really, really, really love it!!!!
And im the sweetheart of my class. In my highschool ( 2 years ago) I was the teachers pet. And now i'm still the teachers pet. At first i hated it but now i can get away with everything. I just blame the other one and says he did it.
Man i love school. Just for 1 day
