Alright, disclaimers! I do not own Raine or Lil. I wish I did, but I only have 24 cents and they cost a quarter. The title Nemo is based off a song by Nightwish called Nemo. Feel free to check out the song, but if you do, it will destroy the ending of this fic. =@
Rating: PG 15 (To be safe) Pairing: Raine x Lil Fic Type: Fantacy, Suspence, Romance and Angst.
This fic will be more then just a chapter long, so stay put for updates. =] Taken from a Lilith perspective in an Alternative Universe. If you can not handle angst and lesbians (WOOT! LESBIANS!) then please don't read. Thank you, that is all. =]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is me, fall forever, one of the lost ones...
A small path lead through a clearing in the CelestialForest, luminated solely by moon light, and blackened whenever a cloud dared to intervene with its path. Wind rustled haunting skeletal trees, withered flowers and weeds screeched in the honey-purple lumination. A small waterfall attached to what seemed to be a god crafted pond gave off the only sounds that could be considered soothing as the crisp air blew across her skin and allowed itself to be inhaled through her blood stained lips. "You must go back," A voice bellowed from nowhere causing the girl hunched over on the ground to to jump in fright. "You must once again finish things."
The girl, beaten and bloodied, clenched the sanded soil in her hands, as she was on all fours and invisably chained. "R-Rai-" "YOU DARE TO SPEAK THAT NAME!?" The girl gave out a cry as sparks of electricity shot up into her veins and began to smash at her heart. Panting, she would have colapsed long ago, but those silk-woven chains shimmered in the moonlight on occasion, and held her into her place. As she began whimpering, the electric current ceased, and new crimson leaked out of her mouth, falling over her rosed lips.
"You know the penalty of which you've spoken." The booming voice acted as thunder through a storm, all around vibrated; and the girl, as if she was a mere child, whimpered in fear once again.
"Please..." She barely whispered. "Please don't make me go back. Please don't make me go back there...please..."
A few cobblestones, all shimmering, rolled past her into the darkness of the wood. Each one relected her perfect face which remained hidden under her hair, the hair that covered her eyes, the hair that draped over her face as she looked down. The Shade caught the reflections and made a low growling voice in the air.
"My child," he began, "I am but Shade, I need light in order to do such a small task as exsist." The Damned One, noticing how her reflection was being cast, quickly turned her face away. "However," the voice continued, "I took into Myself and created One, the origgianal of a new league, a new branch. A new race to gather for Me, what seemed to be fading."
The girl's hands began to tremble more so then before as she failed to surpress a sob. "No...She...She has nothing to do with this...please, not again..." Tears began to stream down the girl's face, her eyes now visable from the three moons' light wide with fear, panic and devastation.
"Lili-"
"NO!" She shrieked out, bringing her head down to her hands' height so they could clutch her hair. "Nonononononononon-!"
"LILITH!" The voice boomed causing the adolecent to shudder and sob crying as quietly as she could in her current infernal exsistance. "There is only One left." He began as the girl attempted to choke back tears, "It is Her...that you must bring to me."
"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry..." Blue soft shimmering light ribboned and drifted from the pool gathering in the air and then, as if on cue, it gracefully glided down to encircle the trembling girl.
"This is your last chance Lilith...go...you know the concequences for your actions if you fail."
"I'm so sorry...I'm so sorry..." The light began to pick up pace, circling her, starting a low chant in a language unknowing to man as she fisted her hands around the soot harder. "I'm so sorry..." As if it senced her fear, then chanting grew louder, faster and faster as the blue's pace spun and swirled, spinning spinning spinning faster faster faster faster. "Please forgive me...please forgive me..." Time stopped as she swallowed the blood and bile that creeped up her throat. She held in her breath, she knew the pain that would come from her next action, her next action of speach. "Please forgive me...
Raine."
Darkness.
I Still Remember The Smile When You Tore Me Apart.
Soooo, I guess somehow, this story has been entered into the fan fiction contest. So, I guess I should say, VOTE FOR ME! =D Why? Because I'm awesome? Heheheh, just kidding. But, either way, I'm competing, just like everyone else and I just want to say 'Good luck' to every body competing. =] May the best story win!
From here on, the story will be in Lil's Point Of Veiw. ~~~~~~~ Chapter 1: The One Without A Name, Without An Honest Heart As Compass
Where am I? Why am I here? I can't remember...I feel as if...as if I'm floating. Floating downward.
Is this death? Am I dying? I feel so tired... As if I've been trying to sleep in a coffin of sorrow, but the nightmares keep me awake.
But, at the same time...I feel some relief, as if I can finally breathe again. Somehow, I feel that....I feel tha-
"HUZZAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"Woh! What the fu-OOF!" And the next thing I knew, I was on a marble floor with a mouth full of dirt. I never was a morning person.
"Ah! Lil! What are you doing on the floor?" My 'maid' rushed to my side (I could tell because of the scampering pitter patters that approached closer and closer) and poked the back of my head. "You really should consider getting a Doctor Lil, you're always awake, and now, when you finally do sleep, you scream and flail out of bed." There was a slight pause in which I assumed was her 'thinking'. "You shouldn't do that. It's not healthy for you."
I groaned and rubbed the back of my head, swatting her ever persistent poking finger away, and then yawned pushing myself up to a point of where I was sitting on my knees. "What time is it?" I asked lazily, dismissing the fact that it was she who actually woke me up.
"Mmm..." She looked outside of a fine window that was held in a stone wall a short distance from my bed. "It seems to be shortly before noontide...Oh! I know!" She squealed in glee and jumped up. "The egg man already came! You know what that means!?" The pink haired girl's eyes sparkled in a way, that it was almost terrifying me.
When I didn't reply, she continued. "OMLETTESSSSSS!" And throwing her dusting tool in the air, she sprinted out of my room and down the stairs as if her ass was on fire.
Remember how I said I was never a morning person? Well, that was distinctively why. Groaning, I stayed in the same spot for approximately five minutes before gaining the strength to stand and make my way to the changing screen on the side of my room, by the foot of my bed.
'So...which dress am I wearing today?' I pondered before the door to my room burst open followed by more Pitter Patters.
"M'lady!" came the voice from the door. "M'lady, hurry up damnitt! Something happened that you need to take care of!" My other maid pulled aside the screen I was standing behind to reveal me practically naked holding only a dress to myself.
"Jessi, what the hell!? It's too early for this!"
She glared down at me with a mixture of embarrassment and stubbornness before grabbing my arms and turning me around. "Say that to your Father." She muttered before grabbing the dress from my hands leaving me totally nude and throwing a waist slip over my head, followed by the very dress she snatched from me.
And while she was doing all this, I was still dazed from waking up. "Jessi, why is all this necessar-UHH!"
"Quit complaining." She muttered as she pulled the strings on my corset tighter then they were ever intended to be made. Tying it, she spun me around and reached for the finely bristled brush sitting on my dresser and began urgently brushing my hair.
"Hey! I've got it!" I snatched the brush from her hand and grumpily turned to my mirror fixing it quickly and effectively. "Really Jess," I turned to her, "I don't think I've ever seen you this urgent to get me out of bed. Why?"
Jessi held that same moody expression on her face. "It's not my fault that you can't control your maids."
"Wha-?"
"HUZZAHHHHHH!" And once more, Haruka came bursting into my room, her hands filled with perhaps four containers that carried half a dozen jugs of milk each, followed by a screaming man who seemed to be balding, ordering her to stop as he pursued her.
"See?" Jessi mumbled and sighed in complete defeat. "I figured she'd be headed this way."
"Look Lil! The milk man came too! He even brought a cow along with him!"
"Hey! If you're not going to pay, then give me my milk back!" The milk man complained as he ran into the room also.
"You stole two dozen jugs of milk...?" I asked hesitantly.
"I didn't STEAL them...I'm just borrowing them!" Haruka replied as I brought my fingers up to my temples.
'Definitely NOT how I intended to start off my morning...'
"Just GIVE me those!" The milk man snatched his milk back when Haruka wasn't expecting it and stomped out slamming my bed room doors behind him. Haruka pouted. "Damnitt. Now how are we going to get the cow to stay with us?"
I blinked. "What?"
"The cow was supposed to follow me in here when she realized that her milk was gone, but now look! What are we going to use to lure her now!?"
"Haruka, cows dont follow milk..."
"LIES!" She shouted and kicked my wall in aggravation. You seem a bit off today Lil, so I forgive you for not understanding my genius."
Jessi rolled her eyes, "You're definitely something but it's not a genius..." She muttered under her breath before turning to me. "Your father would like to see you downstairs as soon as possible. That's the real reason I came." And with that, she turned to leave, her maid skirt dragging on the floor behind her.
Which left me alone with Haruka.
"I'm 'off' today?" I inquired.
"Well, of course! You actually SLEPT last night and woke up SCREAMING."
I made a noise in the back of my throat, a noise known as aggravation. "Don't you think it COULD have been because you ran into my room screaming out-"
"'HUZZAAAHHHHHHHHH!?'"
"Yes." I replied as she finished my sentence. "That exactly."
Haruka blinked. "But I only said that because you were talking to me."
"...What?" The confusion on my face must have been clear, because she continued.
"You were talking about how you could breathe again...how you felt relieved..."
I furrowed my eye brows.I must have been dreaming."
"A dream!? Yay! What was it about!?"
I shrugged. "I don't know, I can't quite remember.
"Lilith, there is only one left...It is Her, you must bring Her to me..."
"Owww...." I held my head in pain. Shadows and darkness played in the back of my eyes. Chains...blood?
"Lil? Are you alright?" Haruka was once more at my side, letting me lean on her. "Perhaps you're sick, that may have been why you slept."
"Perhaps..." I agreed, trying to come back to my senses.
"You should go back to bed, lay down. You'll feel better. Andddd, you'll have an excuse to not see your father."
I smirked, though it was hidden by my hair. "That would be...lovely." I snickered at the thought. "But last time we tried that...it didnt quite turn out so well." Sighing, I stood at my full height. "I'll go now. Thank you Haruka." I smiled at her and began to make my way to the door. Haruka stood there clearly upset that I was off to do other things.
"Oh, and, Haruka?" I called back.
"Yeah?"
"Put an omelet up for me too."
Clearly relived that we'd be eating together, her eyes lit up and her giant smile was thrown back onto her face. "Yup!"
~~~~~~~~~
"Father! You CAN'T be serious!"
I stood in the main hall which led to my Father's study. A few maids winced at my outburst but tried to remain expressionless and firm, preparing for another one of my famous fights with Father.
"I would not bring this up in jest Lilith." He replied calmly. Shaking my head, I approached him
"A DOCTOR? A god damned Doctor!?" I slammed my hands down on his desk.
"THERE IS NO NEED FOT THAT TYPE OF LANGUAGE HERE LILITH!" I winced, but I was determined not to let him see it. "In truth, I'm sick of seeing your sister's maid hang all around you! Here you are, with your own private maid, Jessi, to help you prepare in the mornings, and now you need another one? Your sister's maid no less? I will not stand for it!" He stood rising to his full height.
"I don't ORDER Haruka to hang around with me Father, she just does because technically, my sister Tabi is a little pain in the a-"
"You better hope that isn't true young lady or we're throwing that obnoxious pink haired girl back into the streets from which she came!" I held my tongue, completely and entirely pissed at the man I could not defeat.
"Now that you've held your tongue," He continued, returning to his cold voice, "Yes, I've hired a doctor for you. This way, your Sisters maid won't have to always worry about whether you're alright or not. Seriously Lilith, this...condition of yours is getting more and more out of hand."
I bit back my insults. "You can't expect...a well learned doctor to always be following me around every step of my life just waiting for me to collapse."
"Of course not." He countered. "I've hired the doctor, but he will only be here when you drop."
I furrowed my brow, attempting to understand. "So then, why...?"
"Instead, his apprentice will be here in his place. The one 'just waiting for you to collapse' as I believe you phrased it.
"This is INSANITY!" the few maids in the hallway and room began whispering to each other. "That means there will be a MAN in my room as I change!"
My Father cracked a grin and began to lightly chuckle.
"What's so amusing Father!?"
"Oh, nothing dear. It's just that-"
The door to his study was opened up by none other then my maid Jessi. Just in the nick of time if I do say so. "Sir, the doctor has arrived."
"Ah! Very well, bring him in. Bring him in."
"Actually sir," Jessi continued, turning her head to look behind her. "He was in a bit of a hurry. Instead, he left his apprentice with me..."
She side stepped as a figure slowly came walking into the room.
"What a pity I couldn't meet the famous doctor...very well."
All this time, I refused to meet the gaze of that pathetic boy that was hired to stalk me until my very last breath. His footsteps stopped right behind me, so close that his breathing was on my neck. And it was this that made me break all composure.
"DO YOU MIND KEEPING YOUR DISTANCE!?" I demanded, whirling around glaring to catch the eyes of a...girl?
"Oh! Hehehe, sorry sorry." As she took a step back, all I could think was... 'She has the most miraculous blue eyes...' But, the feelings in my chest felt exactly the opposite of those in my mind...
"Very well, I take it you're Doctor Foss's apprentice?" My father asked, skeptically, clearly as shocked as I was that my new 'doctor' was a woman.
"Daughter actually." She smiled at him. "But, all the same."
"Ah...Daughter..." He swallowed.
"You're in good hands sir. If you drop onto the floor, I know how to perform procedures that will guarantee your safety! Old age or not, I wont let death enter your door."
The maids giggled as my father's face flushed red in anger. "Your patient is not ME, but my DAUGHTER!" Furious, my father walked around his desk, pushed her aside and stomped out of his study.
The orange haired girl began to laugh and called after him. "Is that so? Sorry sorry!" How could she not even be swayed by the anger of my father? She was truly miraculous...and yet, something about her very presence angered me.
"Hahah, so then, you must be the patient."
"Obviously." Jessi mumbled before turning and leaving the study as well.
The girl looked back behind her. "What crawled up her ass?"
I cracked a grin but quickly hid it. I was not going to let some new comer follow me everywhere. "She doesn't like people who are Molly." I replied sternly, causing her smile to immediately fall.
"What...?"
It was purely obvious. The way her hair was cut, the way she held herself and how carefree she was. Anyone could tell from first sight that this girl would surely sleep in the same bed as another woman. She was molly, a fag, and fairy, and all that must have added fuel to my Father's rage.
"I said she could not stand people who are Mol-"
"I heard what you said." She replied, her smile immediately spreading across her face again.
This chick was Weirddddd.
"So, your name is...?" She inquired, her blue orbs locking with my brown ones. Blushing, I turned my head away.
"Lilith." A short reply. Very nice.
"Ah! Sooooooo it's Lil then!"
"Hey!" I spun back to met her gaze, flustered beyond belief. Haruka was in the kitchen on the first floor, there was no chance that this orange haired freak would have gotten a nick name like that from her.
"Oh! You're right, how rude of me." She snickered. "You wana know my name too, right?"
I rolled my eyes stubbornly. "I could care less." And it's true, I could have, Haruka may have been a bit...eccentric, but she was the only friend I really had locked away in this house. And for that...I appreciated her company.
"You're lyingggggg." She teased as I glared down at her. "Lil, I hope we become great friends."
"Over my dead bod-!"
"I really do." She insisted. "It's great to meet you Miss Lilith; I've been looking forward to this for a long time."
Surprised, a wave of deja vou hit over me. 'Looking forward to this.?
Smiling she held out a hand.
"My name is Raine."
