If I've learned one thing about myself it's that my ego is very fragile. The lastest utter shattering of it came just a little while ago when I realized I was nearing my 150th post. Just out of curiousity I clicked the "List all users" button to see how this compared to other users and I was quite suprised to find my name in the 10th slot among users with the highest number of posts. At first my ego was jumping around alot as if I'd actually acomplished something. then reality hit me. I realized that half those posts were ones I'd put enormus effort into and ultimately gotten little response. and the majority of the remaining posts were complaining about it.
in the end my ego went back to trying to piece itself together and give me time to think. at the end I wrote down a short summary of problems, causes and possible solutions and here they are:
1. The reason no one responds to my posts must lie in the way I've been approaching it
A. The dialog is long and not concise or easy to read B. Alot is very moody which also greatly hinders readablity C. Many of the topics are greatly off the theme of the site Thus making it highly unlikely anyone could come up with an educated reply even if they could stand reading the inital post
2. Complaining about it won't make people want to read my post anymore than normal in fact it has a great reverse effect. so I'll be trying to elminate this entirely
Anyway thats whats been going on in my head. (Wow this was a long post maybe I should cut down on the long posts too)
Side Note: I spent about 5 minutes on this new signature image and for some reason I can't stop starin at it Please help I think somethings wrong with me.......... v v

Nothing wrong with long posts. But if your post is long enough to have covered thoroughly whatever its subject may be, there is much less incentive to post a reply, because there is not much more to say. The post may be read and appreciated even when not replied to. Alternatively, a long post may tend to elicit a long reply, and if the reader lacks the time to compose a long reply, they may postpone replying until they do have time... which might be never, assuming that they even manage to remember where to find the post they were intending to reply to.
Off-topic generally has nothing to do with whether a post will be replied to or not. (Moodiness or complaining might.) But at least part may be that there have been relatively few people posting on this forum for a number of weeks, though it has picked up again recently. "Fewer people reading" implies that any particular post is less likely to get a reply; also, older posts may be skipped in favor of looking at the most recent ones.
Is there some reason why you shouldn't look at your signature image? It looks pretty good to me...
Then again there is the possibility I'm chasing shadows and no real problem exists. although a great deal of doubt and confusion still exists.
any way I'm in a hurry so more later

Oh don't worry, we love you and your long posts, it's what makes them special to us. They show us that there is always someone with an opinion they feel strongly about, or that they have good writing skills. Either way, it's a good thing.
No matter what your doing, you should ALWAYS stare at your signature image. It's the very essence of your profile, make it feel loved. Or thats what I think. :)
I just dropped my signature image cause I'm a being of solitude no longer
I'm actually happy it's gone =)
