So...um...I guess I've been kind of lurking about the site for around a year or so, and I finally got the urge to come forth from under the bed. I am currently 18 (almost 19) years old and about to join the Navy (I wants to play on deh big boats!), and if all goes well, I ship off to Boot Camp in January!
Anywho, I guess, if you would like a label, my friends would call me asexual, however I believe that I have the potential to be a lesbian should the need arise (thus far it sadly hasn't).
Yeah...so.... .. ......... . I guess I'll se you all around the site!
Oh yeah! I'm also on Gaia if you care!

To Wandering Mimic- Thank you! But I wouldn't be so reluctant if I could just get a date!
As for gappiee- there are several reasons why people would join the military. The most often heard are "I've always wanted to serve my country" and "they'll pay for my college" My favorite reason so far is used by rich kids, "My (insert old or dead relative here) left me (insert dollar amount meant to impress here) in his will, but it also says that I can't have it if I don't either have four years of college, or four years in the military...I just figured the military would be easier."
I am originally of the second group, however, after research and that the ASVAB (an aptitude test), I discovered that I qualify for the Nuclear Program. -Paid education -Great Career -HUGE money (my first BONUS would be $21,000 and they go up from there) -And I get to play on a big boat traveling the world for a few years (five if I'm not mistaken)
Yes, Boot Camp WILL suck, but it's only for the first two months (I heard that after the first two weeks most Drill Sergeants ease up a bit.

aaaah so no fighting but building(maintaining) really big gadgets ....... never thought of it that way. tinkering isnt the first thing i think of when anyone sais military.
but im studying Electrical engineering so ill probably end up building robots ^^ so i can understand the tinkering thingie. and nuclear power seems kinda interesting (as long as its stable) =)

Yeah, my grandmother REALLY doesn't want me to go into the military because, first off I'm a girl and she's old fashioned, and secondly she thinks I'll get shot. I keep telling her that after the three schools I go to after boot camp, the government will have about a quater of a million dollars invested in me...they're not gonna let me get shot after that! Also, the big guns are on top of the boat...I'll be at the very bottom with all my blinking buttons.

but doest just beeing on the ship(im guessing its not a boat but a big ship =P) put you at risk of getting shot ?? ..... but i guess all the shiny buttons compesate for that ^^ ..... beeing on a ship for several years doesnt sound very apealing though =/ but on the other side the middle of the ocean in a good place to look at the stars =D
nah ill still be the first one to leave when war breaks out ^^ ill hid on a mountain building giant steam engines( i like steamengines they look awsome even if they arent very usefull)

Oh look at that !! An ally. I have been in the Army too. I mean the French Army (since I'm French). it was for a training period of few months. But I was in an armored company, with tanks and stuff like that.
@gappiee- I'm really not in all that much danger. Think of it like this Army=grab guns and run toward the other people with guns who want to kill you. Navy=the bus drivers of the military. We put people where they need to be. Coast Guard=holds the fort at home for everyone. Air Force= gets the credit for everything the military does! Also, being on the ship for a few years won't be so bad. It's a BIG boat! Also, there's plenty of ports along the way so that I may get my little touristy keychains for my collection!

hehe i never said anything about being in danger i actually meant it doest really matter where on the ship you are when you get shot, even if the chances of that happening are really small ^^ but i guess youre right about the save cuz your expensive thing. =P
